Kurt Johnson has over 35 years of professional photography experience. His affinity for photography came at an early age when his father, an avid amateur photography enthusiast and an architect, gave him an old Kodak Brownie camera. Since that time, his eye has not strayed far from a viewfinder.
Beginning his photography career as a photojournalist, Kurt later moved into architectural photography, working for some of the nation’s largest architectural and engineering firms. Kurt evolved into shooting large residential spaces for national print publications, including Architectural Digest, in addition to his work for international magazines. Kurt is an AIAP certified architectural photographer.
His extensive travels throughout the United States and abroad have provided the opportunity to photograph beautiful natural healing landscapes and botanical images. These natural images, combined with his innate understanding of the benefits of Biophilic design, ultimately led to his nature photography being featured in healthcare facilities throughout the country, including the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
He has won numerous local and national awards for his journalistic, architectural, and nature photography.
