Tiffany Blackburn is a humanitarian and a problem solver, creating superior Koroseal customer experiences day in and day out. As a Customer Service Manager, Tiffany leads her team of associates, spread across the United States, in providing exceptional customer service and trustworthy support to our customers. Tiffany’s passion for helping people is evident in her consistent pursuit of improvement, and her solutions-focused approach. With her love for delighting customers; diving into new challenges, supporting customer interactions, and innovating new ways to do so, Tiffany inspires her team to elevate Koroseal services to new heights.

Tiffany's Customer Service Journey

At just 15 years old, Tiffany entered the world of customer service as a waitress in a local hometown restaurant. She worked there on the front lines for 6 years, learning invaluable service skills, and cultivating a love of human interactions and problem-solving. The fast-paced environment taught Tiffany how to stay calm under pressure, multitask, and communicate effectively, all of which have been crucial foundations for her successful career.

Expanding into the world of design solutions customer service was not originally part of Tiffany’s plan, but the stars aligned to get her here. Tiffany worked as an Escrow Officer until 2006 when the housing market crashed. A friend of a friend shared with her an opening at RJF Custom Designs, and she decided to apply, despite her lack of manufacturing or interior product experience. At the time, Tiffany did not even know how to calculate square footage, but her supervisor saw potential and hired her. This opportunity ignited Tiffany’s love for the design world, and she has been hooked ever since.

Tiffany has now been a member of the Koroseal team for 16 years, beginning as a customer service representative for the Wall Protection line in our distribution department. Since then, she has expanded her experience to cover all product lines; supported our National Accounts department; and has held various leadership roles, including her current role as Customer Service Manager. Although her career path shifted, Tiffany still resides in her hometown of Wadsworth, Ohio with her family. She loves raising her two kids back in the small town where she grew up.

Creating the Path for Superior Customer Service

The Koroseal team is constantly working to transform customer dreams into reality. When a customer encounters a question or obstacle, Tiffany and her team find a solution. Tiffany is committed to selecting tools and resources to help elevate the experiences of our customers from start to finish - making the path to your dream design easier, and more enjoyable.

Being raised in a Southern family, Tiffany grew up surrounded by rocking chairs and porch swings, where family and friends would gather to share stories and converse. Finding time each day to sit and reflect on her front porch rocking chair is still one of Tiffany’s favorite past times. It helps spark her creative problem solving.

This concept of re-energizing through reflection transposes into how Tiffany leads her team. Through Tiffany’s leadership, she has fostered an environment where the team is encouraged to think outside the box, enabling the group to create solutions that are not only innovative, but also successful. They collaborate during brainstorming sessions, build comraadery through team building events, and Tiffany is always seeking feedback from internal associates and customers to help improve future efforts. Tiffany believes creativity is essential for developing effective solutions that balance customer needs and requirements.

“Customer service means everything to me. Throughout my entire career, I have centered my work around delivering exceptional customer service. I recognize the lasting impressions that companies create in our daily lives, and I want Koroseal to be at the forefront of this. My goal is to establish ourselves as the best in the industry, providing top-notch service that our customers can rely on.”

One thing Tiffany has learned through her years is that when a customer is upset, there is usually a valid reason behind their feelings, and she always works to find a way to address their concerns. In today’s world, communications are typically handled via email; however, she encourages her team to help solve problems over the phone. Talking directly often helps build understanding of the problem, and quicker resolutions. Her team has learned to collaborate and always develop a clear path of action. When Customer Relations representatives, managers, and supervisors are aligned, and working towards a solution, it reinforces our team’s commitment to deliver exceptional service. From Tiffany’s standpoint, her team’s purpose is not just handling concerns, but building the best solutions and serving as a trusted partner to our customers. She wants customers to feel heard, to see progress, and to rest assured we can help get their project on the right path forward.

What do you enjoy most about your current job?

Tiffany: What I enjoy most about my job is the people. Each individual at Koroseal contributes uniquely to our overall success, and I truly believe that building strong relationships among coworkers is essential for a positive work environment. When employees feel connected to one another, it not only enhances their enjoyment of the workplace, but also fosters a culture of collaboration and success.

I also love the variety each day brings. Some days are filled with meetings and planning sessions, while others allow me to dive into orders or work through challenges to help resolve customer issues. No two days are the same, and that’s what keeps me engaged and motivated.

What is your favorite Koroseal product and why?

Tiffany: The old Wall Protection line will always have a special place in my heart, but I have to say Digital has become my favorite. The possibilities with this product line are endless, and the creativity of the team behind it is extraordinary. I love witnessing the collaboration between our customers and our internal team to bring their ideas to life—it’s truly rewarding to see their visions realized through our products. The endless possibilities with Digital are incredibly exciting and enticing!

What is a memorable piece of advice you have received and find inspiring?

Tiffany: "Success is not just about what you accomplish, but what you inspire others to do.” This has always resonated with me, as I believe that leadership is about uplifting those around you. It reminds me to focus not only on my individual goals, but also on fostering a supportive team environment. This drives me to empower my colleagues at Koroseal, encouraging collaboration and shared success.

What are you most looking forward to in the future of Koroseal?

Tiffany: I’m excited about the growth of Koroseal and the potential that lies ahead. We have a fantastic team, but we need better tools to continue to excel in customer service. Over the past year, the company vision shared with us has aligned perfectly with what Koroseal needs to elevate our customer service to the next level. I’m looking forward to collaborating with executive management to turn this vision into reality.
