Designer Report: Inside HD Expo 2026

HD-TREND-BLOG-HEADER-IMAGE

Each year, from the heart of Las Vegas, HD Expo brings our design community together to create a captivating destination for hospitality innovation and product discovery. With over 600 product suppliers, among 25 categories, HD Expo 2026 showcased a culmination of the latest trends, manufacturers, and industry experts.

Koroseal not only had our own featured booth space alongside Arte, but the Koroseal Design Team was also able to attend the show and be enlightened as they learned, observed, and connected with fellow forward-thinking creators.

Inside the Koroseal | Arte Booth - Finding Your Color Story

Creating is our love language! HD Expo was a phenomenal event for Koroseal to showcase our products, celebrate creativity, and fuel fellow creators.

This year, our booth space also featured Koroseal’s exclusive Color Story Experience - an expert color consultation, identifying color pallets to best match a booth visitor’s own unique style.

Over 150 participating attendees received a 10-minute complimentary color consultation with a professional color analyst. During the consultation, a color expert identified one of four unique color palettes to best represent the individual’s own Color Story - Bloom, Breeze, Harvest, and Frost. This year’s consultations revealed a diverse mix of design perspectives and personal styles, with 27.9% of participants aligning with Bloom, 30.5% with Breeze, 24.7% with Harvest, and 16.9% with Frost. Each palette also featured associated product examples. The color palettes matched during a user’s consultation could then be used as inspiration for both personal style, and for creating newly designed spaces.

Many participants were able to start exploring their color palettes further while learning about Koroseal and Arte product options in our booth. We can’t wait to see how these creators will leverage their color stories to shape future designs!

Trending at HD Expo 2026

Throughout HD Expo, our team was inspired by the trends that emerged in the breathtaking designs, innovative products, and collaborative working sessions. Below are a few highlights to consider as you embark on new designs in 2026.

Texture & Tacticality
The most dominant trend persistent throughout this year’s show was TEXTURE. Nearly every display incorporated some kind of tactile or layered element, emphasizing the growing importance of creating character through depth, dimension, and materials.

The way in which textures worked together was where creativity really flourished. The spaces were designed to go beyond their visual appeal and evoke emotions of tranquility, calm and serenity. From rich velvets, to buttery leathers and soft boucles, exhibitors demonstrated how thoughtfully combined textures can create spaces that feel both visually dynamic and inviting.

We also loved seeing how designers paired contrasting textures together to create balance and interest—smooth finishes alongside rougher organic materials, soft textiles against sleek metals, and matte surfaces complemented by reflective accents.

Mixing materials with different sheen levels on both furniture and wall treatments elevated the dichotomy of light vs. dark and matte vs. gloss. We continued to see soft champagne gold and bronze tones as the accent metal of choice in hospitality, while matte black was often chosen for the opposing sheen. These combinations added warmth and sophistication without relying heavily on bold prints.

Organic materials in woven patterns adding another textural element to many displays. The woven motif extends to a variety of materials such as metal, wood, and even a mix of the two in some instances.

Vertical tambour designs have been growing in popularity the last few years and don’t seem to be slowing down. Tambour was a common feature when it came to wood visuals; however, the trend is now growing beyond wood, merging into metal, textiles, wallcoverings, and other materials.

While pattern still had a presence throughout HD Expo, it clearly took a secondary role this year. Texture emerged as the primary design language, displaying layered materials and tactile experiences are becoming increasingly influential in shaping modern hospitality interiors.

Warm Colors
HD Expo displays featured warm colors as taupes, beiges, and warm whites continued to dominate the show floor. Contrastingly, cool white and gray tones were scaled back from previous years. Nods to nature were omnipresent, supported through wood grains and complementary color pallets.

In addition to omnipresent classic warm tones, our design team was mesmerized by unique twists on typical color schemes. Traditional reds were creatively redefined through the use of deep burgundy and oxblood tones. Even more compelling was a refreshed classic mauve that took on a stronger presence - sometimes appearing almost as a dusty pink, and in other executions, leaning  more into a coral shade. With its unique complexity, we expect this “new” mauve to be emerging more prominently for the foreseeable future.

Greens spanned a wide range of hues, from acid yellows, to rich jewel, and soft sage or olive tones. Blues were not as dominant this year, although teal was prescient and essentially bridged the gap between blue and green shades. The blues that were used typically appeared in more traditional patterns, such as stripes or organic motifs, and were in classic hues of light blue, midtone wedgwood blue, and rich navy.

Emerging Styles
A strong emphasis on outdoor spaces was evident throughout many of the exhibitions at this year’s expo, reflecting the design community’s continued commitment to seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor environments. The displays reinforced the idea that thoughtful design extends well beyond the traditional interior, creating cohesive experiences that connect architecture, furnishings, and nature.

Mid-century and Art Deco influences also made a noticeable appearance, though in more pared-back and contemporary interpretations. Rather than directly replicating these iconic styles, designers incorporated subtle motifs and refined details that paid homage to their origins while feeling fresh and modern.

There were also clear nods to traditional design through the use of plaids, florals, and stripes, many of which were reimagined through updated color palettes and modern interpretations. These familiar patterns felt both nostalgic and current, offering a renewed perspective on classic designs. (For inspiration, check out Koroseal’s NEW Wexley Plaid)

Across much of the furniture on display, we saw clean lines and simple organic forms. The focus shifted away from furniture shape, and instead emphasized the interplay of texture, materiality, and layering within the overall space. This allowed tactile elements and thoughtfully curated finishes to create warmth, depth, and visual interest.
